Purpose

The purpose of this function is to maintain Configuration data used in the Statistics Subsystem.

Statistics

The Statistics Configuration - HE block contains:

• Derive Permanent Resident Eligibility check box
• Include TAC Applications in Admission Snapshot check box
• Commencing students reported with commencing status for collection year check box

Rules/Notes:

The Derive Permanent Resident Eligibility field applies to the Create Government Statistics Snapshot (STAJ0110) and Create Government Revision Submission Snapshot (STAJ1610) job.

The 'Include TAC Applications in Admission Snapshot' check box controls the reporting of Tertiary Admission Centre (TAC) applications, and applies to the Government Admissions Statistics Snapshot job (STAJ0500).

• Leave the 'Include TAC Applications in Admission Snapshot' check box unchecked (default) if the institution is not reporting TAC applications (i.e. the institution has authorized TACs to report its admission data on its behalf). In this case, only applications made directly to the institution will be reported in the institution's Govt Admissions Statistics Snapshot (STAJ0500).
• Check the 'Include TAC Applications in Admission Snapshot' check box if the institution wishes to report TAC applications itself, including those performed by TACs (i.e. the institution has not authorised TACs to report its admission data on its behalf). All applications made directly by the institution or via a TAC, will then be reported in the institution's Govt Admissions Statistics Snapshot (STAJ0500).
• If the 'Commencing students reported with commencing status for collection year' check box is not selected then commencing students will be reported as returning for the remaining part of the collection year. If selected, commencing students will be reported with a commencing status for the whole collection year.

Rules/Notes:

If the Use Victorian specific rules for statistics reporting check box is selected, then additional fields will be displayed in ENRF3090 and ENRF30A0.

To create a Permanent Resident Eligibility:

• Derive Permanent Residence Eligibility check box.
  Selecting this indicates whether or not the institution wishes to derive Permanent Resident Eligibility Help Assistance when creating the Government Submission Snapshot (STAJ0110) or Government Revision Snapshot (STAJ1610).

Rules/Notes:

A value is automatically derived if the check box is selected. If it isn't selected, and a value exists in the Permanent Resident Status field of ENRF3060, then this value is used. If it isn't selected, and there is no value in the Permanent Resident Status field of ENRF3060, the value is set to '9' and added to the error log as a warning.
