Maintain Application

This form is used to create and maintain applications as web elements so that they can be incorporated in Callista Connect web pages, via Connect Builder. Each application is pre-defined in the Callista form SSFF1100 (Maintain Self Serve Applications), where it is mapped to a system application. That self-serve application name defined in SSFF1100 is then used to name the application web element in this form. When displaying a web page, the system looks for the self-serve application with the same name as the application web element name that is to be inserted in the page.

Once defined, the template for the element can be customised, allowing layout and appearance to be modified if desired. To alter the application template for the web element either:

  • Create the modified template using HTML code in the Property block; or
  • Copy the application template for the system application in SSFF1120 (Maintain System Self Serve Application Templates)and paste the code into the Property block and alter as required.

If changes to the application template are made for the web element, these changes override the appearance of the application in the web page.

Examples of when web element application templates should be modified are the PERSON-INQ system self serve application and the ENR-STEPS system self serve application. For example: ENR-STEPS can be modified to create a NXT-PREV set of steps for navigation through the self-enrolment facility.

Currently available applications are described in Callista Connect Student Applications. For more details on the creation of web pages refer to the specialist topic Understanding the Web Administrator.
