Processes Invoked in the Record Enrolments Form (ENRF3000)

Certain processes can be selected as Enrolment Procedure Steps and will then apply automatically when the Record Enrolments Form is used. The tables below give details of these processes, which apply at Person, Course or Unit level.

More information on the Enrolments Subsystem is available in Understanding Enrolments. Enrolment Procedure Steps are discussed in Enrolment Sessions, and Controlling Access to Enrolment Functions. Information about the Record Enrolments form can be found in Record Enrolments (ENRF3000).

Processes Relating to a Person

Process

Function

CHKCENCUMB

It is possible to restrict a Student's Course Enrolment(s) in various ways by placing Encumbrances on the student.

This process checks if the student has such Encumbrances, and if so, prevents or warns about attempted entries or changes to a Student's Enrolment in ENRF3000, as appropriate.

See Encumbrances in Management of Existing Enrolments for an explanation of encumbrances, and Encumbrance Effect Types for a list of the System defined effects, of which the following may be implicated in this checking: EXC_COURSE, EXC_CRS_GP, SUS_COURSE, RSTR_GE_CP, RSTR_LE_CP, RSTR_AT_TY.

CHKCROSS

Course Rule Checking is applied. This checks a Student's Enrolment against rules specified for each Course Offering Pattern in form CRSF1500. The cross-checking rules apply to Cross Faculty Enrolments (for Academic Year and duration of course), Cross Location and Cross Mode Enrolments.

Further details are given in Enrolment Rule Checking.

CHKFORCED

Course/Unit Rule Checking is applied. This checks that students enrolling in units adhere to the following 'forced' attributes of their Course Offering Option (as specified in CRSF1400): Forced Location, Forced Attendance Mode and Forced Attendance Type.

Further details are given in Enrolment Rule Checking.

VAR-CUTOFF

If the VAR-CUTOFF process is specified, the Variation Cut-off Date Restrictions can be overridden by a person with the appropriate security privileges. See Variation Cut-off Date Alias

If an attempt is made to confirm an unconfirmed Student Course Attempt in ENRF3000, the Pre-Enrolment process is automatically activated. It checks for the existence of a corresponding Admissions Offer in the relevant Admissions Period. If none is found, Pre-Enrolment is not performed. If the Admissions Offer exists, Pre-Enrolment is performed as described under 'An application with the Course Attempt already existing in Enrolments' in the section Pre-enrolment of students individually through the Admissions subsystem.

When Pre-Enrol is selected, it causes the Admin Dtl button to appear in the Courses Attempt screen of ENRF3000.
