Purpose

To enable Institutions to configure Attendance Recording methods for use in the Electronic Rollbook application

A recording method defines a student’s attendance in the Rollbook. This form enables Institutions to create types of Recording Methods that are applied to the entire Rollbook. A Recording Method is required prior to any recording of attendance in a Rollbook but is not be mandatory at the point of Rollbook creation.

The form enables a Method Attendance Recording ID and Description, Version Number, Start/End Date, Comments, Method Description and Participation Indicator to be entered.

The Attendance Record Method configuration options enable the following functionality:

• The Attendance Record Method is configured so that it is SSF available, and as such, enables the selection of a pre-defined list of Attendance Record Methods in the creation of the Rollbook in Staff Connect
• The Attendance Record Method Code allows for alphanumeric values so that symbols such as ^, /, \, X, etc can be entered
• A system defined Participation check box is associated with a Recording Method.

Rules/Notes:

The Attendance Code allows for alphanumeric values so that symbols such as / \ X ^ etc can be entered. Values outside the normal keyboard characters are not allowed,  i.e. √.

The Participation check box determines whether or not a student is deemed as having participated in the unit.
