Use it to:

  • alter the description of encumbrance types.

Encumbrance categories are described in the overview of encumbrance functionality. Their effects are detailed in ENRF6320.

Rules:
  • Encumbrance categories are used to identify the two groupings of encumbrance effects. They also have navigation effects as described under ENRF6320.
  • At least one encumbrance effect must be attached to an encumbrance type prior to saving.
  • Encumbrance types cannot be deleted. They can be closed preventing further use.
  • The effects attached to an encumbrance type are applied to a student when the encumbrance type is recorded against the student. This is covered in detail under ENRF6320.
  • Encumbrance levels are described under the overview of encumbrances. Rules relating to levels are explained in the Rules section of ENRF6100.
