Non-Enrolled Student Unit Attempt Outcome

Image

Use this form to record details of student unit attempt outcomes added to the mark sheet. This process is necessary when the students are not enrolled in the context unit offering. However, the student must be 'known' to Callista.

Typically, if a student is not displayed on the result entry screen in the Mark/Grade Entry form (ASSF5330), an attempt will first be made to add the student using the Add Student facility. If that is not possible because the student is not enrolled in the unit offering, then details of their unit attempt outcome can be recorded in this form. It is also possible that the student might be enrolled in another offering option of the same unit, in which case their outcome can still be recorded in ASSF5330. The full Result Sheet recording process is described under Recording Results.

This form can be accessed via a menu or by the Add Non-Enrolled Student navigation button in the Enter Mark/Grade form (ASSF5330).

The details recorded in this form can be printed in the Non-Enrolled Student Unit Attempt Outcome Report (ASSR06J0) for resolution by an assessments specialist.

To enter a new non-enrolled student outcome:
1

In Insert mode either:

  • Enter the known person ID; or
  • Select the Find Person button to display the Find Person screen. Perform a query to retrieve person details. Select OK to return to this form

Rules:

  • Grades must have the Student Unit Attempt Outcome indicator checked for the Outcome to be recorded.
  • A mark or grade must be entered.
  • A person cannot be added who does not have at least one course attempt recorded.
2 Optionally enter the Course Code. The LOV displays all course attempts for the selected student.
3 Record the Unit Offering Pattern. When the unit code is entered, the LOV displays all offering patterns for the unit. Select the required unit offering pattern. If the form is accessed via ASSF5330, the context unit offering pattern is automatically displayed.
4 Optionally enter unit offering option details - location and/or unit mode and/or unit class. If the form is accessed via ASSF5330, the context unit offering details are automatically displayed.
5 Record the mark and/or grade. Entering the grade inserts the relevant grading schema details. Otherwise, the grading schema LOV displays an aggregated list of grades from all schema associated with the unit offering details entered.
6 The Creation Method is inserted by the system and indicates how the non-enrolled outcome was recorded - manually keyed or electronic upload process.
7 Select the Resolved checkbox when the student's enrolment in this unit has been investigated, resolved and records have been corrected.
To query existing non-enrolled student outcomes:
1 Perform query to retrieve existing records.
2 Selecting the Include Resolved Outcomes checkbox will return all records in the query including those that have had their Resolved checkbox selected.
