STAF3300 - Maintain Government USI Exemption Codes

To define USI Exemption Codes that will be available for selection in ADMW3356.

This form enables the definition of USI Exemption codes that are prescribed by the USI Office. The Explanation values defined for open records in this form will be displayed as radio button options in the USI Exemptions (ADMW3356) page. If an Explanation is not recorded for an Exemption Code, then the Description is displayed in ADMW3356.

When the Explanation radio button is selected in ADMW3356, the corresponding Exemption Code ids recorded for the student.

The USI Corrections job (STAJ8100) uses the Exemption codes to exclude records from the extracted data.

The following data is an example on what institutions may record, based on exemption codes prescribed by the USI office in 2017.

This exemption reason code has been introduced for 2018 onwards to record Individual exemption to obtaining a USI code.

INTERNATIONAL OFF-SHORE EXEMPTION

Individual is an offshore international student studying outside of Australia.

International Student studying outside Australia

SHORT

SHORT COURSE EXEMPTION

N

This exemption is used to record an exemption of SHORT for students undertaking study in a program which is 1 day or less in duration. This code is only valid until the 31/12/2017.

Student Studying Short Course Exemption

This form can be accessed directly from the Callista menu.

 

The Government USI Exemption Code block contains:

  • Government USI Exemption Code
  • Description
  • Closed indicator
  • Notes
  • Explanation

Rules/Notes:

  • The Explanations are displayed as radio button text for each code in ADMW3356. If the Explanation is blank, the Description is displayed on that page.
  • Explanations or Description for Closed records do not appear in ADMW3356.
  • The Explanation options (radio buttons) are displayed in ADMW3356 in alphabetical order.
  • The Exception Code is also included in a lamp in the ADMW3356 Summary page when the user has made the corresponding selection.
  • A warning is displayed if there is no Explanation recorded for an Exemption Code.
  • If there are no Exemption Codes defined here then no exemption options will display in ADMW3356.
