ADMW3356 - USI Exemptions

Overview

This page is used to record an exemption for a student who is eligible.
The Exemption Codes and their associated Explanations are defined in STAF3300. The National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER) office release guidelines for the reporting of Student USI Exemptions and the Exemption Codes defined in STAF3300 should conform with these.

Note: If a student has a verified USI record, navigation to ENRW3356 will be disabled on ENRW3350. If that student is to have an Exemption applied to them, the existing USI record must be deleted on ENRW3350 to allow navigation to ENRW3356.

To record a USI exemption for a student

  1. Go to ADMF3000 or ENRF3000.
  2. Query for the student and click on the USI Navigation button.
  3. In ADMW3350 click on the USI Exemption button.
  4. Select the radio button that applies to the student.
  5. Click on the Save button and you will return to ADMW3350.

    A lamp 'An <Exemption Code from STAF3300> Exemption will be applied to this student on <date>' is displayed.
    The Exemption Code associated with this option in STAF3300 (Maintain Government USI Exemption Codes) will be set as the Person USI.

    If the radio button corresponding to the 'INDIV' exemption in STAF3300 is selected, a further question, 'Has the student lodged a personal objection to being assigned a USI?' displays.
    If the 'Yes' radio button is selected the 'An INDIV Exemption will be applied to this student on <date>' lamp above displays. If 'No' is selected, a 'No Applicable Exemptions apply for this student' lamp displays.

To change an exemption code for a student

The Person USI Exemption record must be deleted prior to applying a different USI Exemption or requesting and verifying a USI for a student.

ADMW3356 is invoked by clicking on the USI Exemption button in ADMW3350.

Clicking on the Save or Cancel button In ADMW3356 returns the user to ADMW3350.

Context Student fields

Field: Description:
Person IDPerson ID of the person whose USI details are of interest.

PERSON.PERSON_ID
Date of Birth Birth date of the student

PERSON.BIRTH_DATE
Surname Surname of the student

PERSON.SURNAME
Given Names Given names of the student

PERSON.GIVEN_NAMES

Exemption Radio buttons

The text for each Exception option is derived from the Explanation field defined for the Exception Code in STAF3300.
Where an Explanation is not recorded on that page, the Description defined on that page is displayed here.
Exception Options with their closed indicator selected in STAF3300 will not display here.

Lamps

The Exception Code in Exception Lamp displayed in the Summary page is derived from the Exemption Code defined in STAF3300.
