Government Occupation Types are mapped to institution-defined values and are recorded to uniquely identify the type of occupation that may be expected for those undertaking a program of study. Government Occupation Types are reported in the NAT00030 Course File as ANZSCO* (Occupation Type) Identifier values (those without the Major Group check box selected).
*ANZSCO is the 'Australia and New Zealand
Standard Classification of Occupations' as defined by the Australian Bureau of Statistics and Statistics New Zealand.
This form creates Government values for Institution-defined Occupation Types to map to in CRSF11K0.

The Major Group check box allows the definition of an occupation type as belonging to the major group category as defined by ANZSCO. These will in turn be reported in the NAT00080 file as the Client Occupation Identifier.

ANZSCO Government Occupation Types have five hierarchical levels - major group, sub-major group, minor group, unit group and occupation.
Example Occupation Types from each level are listed below:

  • Major group - Technicians and Trade Workers =3
  • Sub-major Group - Construction Trades Workers =33
  • Minor Group - Bricklayers, Carpenters and Joiners =331
  • Unit Group - Bricklayers and Stonemasons =3311
  • Occupation - Bricklayer =331111

This form is accessed via the main menu.
