Use this page to create and maintain Learning Outcomes for Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) Levels.
Learning Outcomes are defined for the level of skills, knowledge or application attained in a course.
When defining AQF Learning Outcomes, an Institution may determine that particular Learning Outcomes at an AQF Level will only apply to particular Course Type(s). In which case they could be defined for particular AQF Level/Course Type combinations. Alternatively the Learning Outcomes could be defined without reference to the optional Course Type value and be displayed for all Course Versions with that AQF Level.
The Outcome ID is also optional and can be used to used to order or categorise the AQF Learning Outcomes. Where recorded, this forms part of the Learning Outcome text displayed in CRSW3000.
The AQF Level and Course Type of a Course Version are recorded in CRSF1210 and the AQF Learning Outcomes for a Course Version are displayed in CRSW3000.
Where Learning Outcomes are defined for an AQF Level alone, these will display in CRSW3000 for Course Versions with that AQF Level, except where there are Learning Outcomes described for the AQF Level/Course Type combination for the Course Version, in which case only they will display.
This page may be reached directly from the menu.
A list of AQF Learning Outcomes is displayed on entry to this page. This list can be searched using the initial fields displayed or the Additional Search fields available. See Working with Lists for general information about lists.
AQF records may be created, edited or deleted on this page, and the user returned to the Callista menu.
Field: | Description: |
Outcome ID | An optional identifier that can be used to order or categorise the AQF Learning Outcomes. Where recorded, this forms part of the AQF Learning Outcome record displayed in CRSW3000 i.e. In CRSW3000, it is included ahead of the AQF Level text (described below) with a hyphen and spaces automatically included to aid readability. LEARNING_OUTCOME.LEARNING_OUTCOME_ID |
AQF Level | The AQF Level in combination with the Course Type, that this Learning Outcome applies to. LEARNING_OUTCOME.AQF_LEVEL_CD |
Course Type: | The Course Type which can be used in combination with the AQF Level that this Learning Outcome applies to. The system allows the inclusion of a Course Type when defining an AQF Learning Outcome. This Course Type comes from institution-defined Course Types in CRSF1110 and should only be used by institutions to differentiate between different awards at the same AQF level when the AQF Learning Outcome needs to vary. Only Course Types that are not closed will be available for selection. This field is optional and AQF Learning Outcomes can be defined for AQF levels alone. LEARNING_OUTCOME.COURSE_TYPE |
Description: | The text that will display for the AQF Learning Outcome in CRSW3000. This field supports mixed-case, rich text. LEARNING_OUTCOME.DESCRIPTIVE_TEXT |
Closed: | Select this check box to close this AQF Level. It will not display in the Outcome Frameworks in CRSW3000 (except where it has already been mapped to a Course Learning Outcome). LEARNING_OUTCOME.CLOSED_IND |
The new AQF Learning Outcome will be available for inclusion in CRSW3000. For a course with a combination of AQF Level and Course Type for which Learning Outcomes have been defined, the AQF Learning Outcomes created for that combination will apply instead of those created for the AQF Level alone.
The updated Learning Outcome will be displayed for new mappings in CRSW3000.
