CRSW0120 - Relationship Labels

Table of Contents

Overview

This page is used to create institution-defined Relationship Labels that are used to describe (i.e. 'label') the relationship between items in a Structure (CRSW2600) or Dependencies (CRSW2600).

Relationship Labels created in this page constitute the drop-down Selector values for the first Relationship Description field in the Add pop-up page (CRSW2605). (For more information, see Relationship Description Fields, below.)

Relationship Labels are used in conjunction with Relationship Qualifiers (CRSW0110) and Relationship Qualifier Attributes (CRSW0115) when adding an item via the Add pop-up page (CRSW2605). (For more information, see Relationship Description Fields, below.)

Each institution-defined Relationship Label must be mapped to a System Relationship Label.

Different System Relationship Labels are available for Course and Unit Set Structures, and Course, Unit Set and Unit Dependencies. (See the list of System Relationship Labels, below.)

To use this page, it is expected that you will be an administrator who is authorised to set up reference data for Structures (CRSW2600).

For more information, see the Structures Overview Help page.

The Display Text you add here for the Relationship Label will be available in the list of Selector values on the Relationship Description field (first field) in the Add pop-up page (CRSW2605), accessed from a Structure or Dependencies (CRSW2600).

If this value is selected as a Relationship Description then it will constitute part of the 'label' that is displayed in the Relationship ('bubble' shape) that is created when adding items in a a Structure or Dependencies (CRSW2600). (A Relationship Qualifier (CRSW0110), quantifier value, and Relationship Qualifier Attribute (CRSW0115) make up the rest of the Relationship Label.)

Table value:
RLTSHP_LABEL.DESCRIPTION

*Description

Enter a description of the Relationship Label. You can enter up to 60 characters.

Table value:

Relationship Description Fields

'Relationship Description' fields constitute the label displayed in a Relationship (bubble shape) in a Structure or Dependencies (CRSW2600).

A Relationship Label is used in conjunction with:

to populate the Relationship Description fields in the Add pop-up page (CRSW2605) (see the following diagram).

Note: The Relationship Label you select for the first field determines which Relationship Qualifiers (CRSW0110) are available for selection for the subsequent Relationship Qualifier (CRSW0110) field. See the 'System Relationship Qualifiers' section of the Relationship Qualifiers (CRSW0110) Help page.
