Derivation
of the Government Reportable Check Box
The
process which determines whether or not a record in the Create Enrolments Statistics
Snapshot (STAJ0100) is reportable in the Create Government
Submission Snapshot (STAJ0110) is described below.
The methods by which other derived values in that Snapshot are determined are
described in Derivation
of Values in the Government Statistics Process.
The
Government Reportable check box flags each record in the Create Enrolments Statistics
Snapshot as being either reportable (Y), not reportable (N), or a warning (W).
Warning records should be checked, as by default they are Government Reportable.
Change the Government Reportable check box for any warning records which should
not be reported to 'X' using STAF1250.
All
records (with the exception of those set to 'X') are checked again when the
Create Government Submission Snapshot is run. Records which are 'Not Reportable'
(N) at this stage are omitted from the Government Submission Snapshot. Warning
records can be viewed in the Reset Government Reportable check box form (STAF1250).
The
following describes the process by which the value for the Government Reportable
check box for each record in the Enrolments Statistics snapshot is determined.
Form labels (e.g. ENRF3000) indicate locations where
data could be checked.
A record
in the Create Enrolment Statistics Snapshot always has its Government Reportable
check box set to 'N' (Not Government Reportable) when its EFTSL value = 0, otherwise:
A record
in the Create Enrolment Statistics Snapshot has its Government Reportable check
box set to 'Y' (Government reportable) when:
- The Course Version of the Course Attempt belongs to Course Category
'GOVT-RPT' (CRSF1130 or CRSF1210
> CRSF1270),
Note: This is overridden (set to 'N') where the Unit Version is in Unit Category
'GOVT-NORPT'
and/or
- The Unit Version of the Unit Attempt belongs to Unit Category 'GOVT-RPT' (CRSF2120
or CRSF2210 > CRSF2260)
A record
in the Create Enrolment Statistics Snapshot has its Government Reportable check
box set to 'N' (not Government Reportable) when any of the following apply:
- The Course Version of the Course Attempt belongs to Course Category
'GOVT-NORPT' (CRSF1130 or CRSF1210
> CRSF1270),
Note: This is overridden (set to 'Y') where the Unit Version is in Unit Category
'GOVT-RPT'
and/or
- The Unit Version of the Unit Attempt belongs to Unit Category 'GOVT-NORPT' (CRSF2120
or CRSF2210 > CRSF2260)
- The Course Attempt is in an Open Learning Course (Government Course
Type = 60) (ENRF3000 & CRSF1110)
- The Course Attempt is in a Non-Award Course owned by an external
Organisational Unit (Government Course Type = 50 & responsible Organisational
Unit does not belong to the local institution) (ENRF3000
& CRSF1110 & CRSF1210)
- The Course Attempt is in a Cross-Institutional Course owned by an
external Organisational Unit (Government Course Type = 40, 41 or 42 &
responsible Organisational Unit does not belong to the local institution)
(ENRF3000 & CRSF1110
& CRSF1210 & ORGF0141)
- The Unit Version of the Unit Attempt has no Credit Point Load (CRSF2210)
- The teaching responsibility Organisational Unit does not belong to
the local institution (CRSF2210 > CRSF2220
& ORGF0141)
- The student is an overseas student who is not being charged Tuition
Fees by the institution (student's Course Attempt Student Status = 310 and
the student is not liable for Tuition Fees for the Course Attempt (ENRF3000
> ENRF3110 & FINF3800
or consult Student Finance specialist)
- If the Enrolled Date
is after the Census Date or the Discontinuation Date, if set, is on or before
the Census Date, then the Unit is not Government Reportable and the function
will return ‘N’. The Enrolled Date and Discontinuation Dates will be passed
in as new parameters
- Course Type of Honorary
Doctorate
A record
in the Enrolments Statistics snapshot has its Government Reportable check
box set to 'W' (warning) when:
- The student is enrolled in a Unit in an completed Award Course (CRSF1210
> CRSF1110), course requirements are complete
(Course Requirements Complete check box is selected in PRGF4170)
and Unit Attempt Status = ENROLLED (ENRF3000)
