SSFF1210 - Maintain Shopping Cart Configuration

Purpose

To allow an institution to Maintain Shopping Cart Configuration

SubSystem

Callista Connect

Normally Run By Connect Administator Specialist
Anticipated Frequency As required
Structure  Block Maintain Shopping Cart Configuration

The form allows the configuration of the Shopping Cart application used by Callista Connect:

The form maintains the following check boxes:

  • Auto Commit – when the student user 'checks out' from the shopping cart, the program validates against rules and automatically saves the selected units against the SUA, without further prompting from the user
  • Allow Invalid Units – allows for:
    • The saving of INVALID units against the student user’s SUA
    • The deleting of INVALID units from the Shopping Cart
    • The user to be forced to resolve rule breaches in the Shopping Cart prior to proceeding
  • Attend configuration checkboxes
    • Enable Attend
    • Allow Activity clashes

The form maintains the following text fields:

  • Minimum Unit Code Length – determines the minimum number of characters that a user must enter in the Unit Code Search field. The remainder are defaulted as wildcard characters in a search
  • Allow Activity Clashes Default Reason - used to store a default Override Clash Reason normally populated through ENRF4200 (Maintain Student Activity Allocation) and ENRF4250 (Maintain Student Activity Group Allocations) override functionality, when a student is allocated to an activity offering that either “clashes” with an existing selection or is fully allocated.

For general information on the Shopping Cart, see SSF Shopping Cart.

For information on files related to the Shopping Cart, see Student Connect.

This form is accessed from the main menu.

The Maintain Shopping Cart Configuration block contains:

  • Auto Commit check box

Process Invalid Units

  • Save INVALID units radio button
  • Do not save INVALID units radio button
  • User to resolve rule breaches radio button
  • Enable 'Delete Invalid SUA' Date Alias check box
  • Delete UNCONFIRMED units check box
  • Minimum Unit Code Search Length

Attend Configuration

  • Enable Attend check box
  • Allow Activity Clashes check box
  • Allow Activity Clashes Reason text field

Rules/Notes:

The Attend Configuration section of the form is only available if Attend has been installed on the system.

The Enable Attend check box is used to confirm that Attend has been configured to be called within the Shopping Cart. If Attend is configured to be called within Shopping Cart, it can still be called from the menu but not as an Enrolment Step outside of Shopping Cart.

The Allow Activity Clashes indicator and the Allow Activity Clashes Reason field should be 'display only' fields when the Enable Attend indicator is not selected.

The Allow Activity Clashes check box indicates if previous Clash functionality within Attend is to be overridden when Attend is configured to be called within Shopping Cart.

When the Allow Activity Clash box is not selected, Shopping Cart removes the radio button or check box against an activity offering when a user has selected the activity offering that “clashes” with an existing selection, and submits that selection.

When the Allow Activity Clashes check box is selected, the check box against an activity offering that 'clashes' with an existing selection will remain available for selection or de-selection.

When the Allow Activity Clashes check box is selected, an Override Reason must be specified.

The Allow Activity Clashes check box cannot be selected when the Enable Attend indicator is not selected.

You cannot record an Allow Activity Clashes Reason without selecting the Allow Activity Clashes check box.
