CRSW1030 - Component Types

Table of Contents

Overview

This page is used to create and maintain Component Types. A Component Type represents a combination of elements that form part of a course or a component of study offered by an institution, for example, a Bachelor of Arts can include the Component Types: Major, Minor, Sequence, and Elective.

This page is also a Reference Data page that is used to set up data required on Course Plan Structure pages. For example, Component Types created on this page comprise the List of Values for the Component Type field on the Create and Edit Component pages (CRSW2020). When a new Component (CRSW2020) is created, a Component Type must be specified for the Component.

A Style Class (created in GENW0040) can be associated with a Component Type to specify how the associated Component will be displayed on the institution's public-facing Course Plan Enquiry page (for example, the colour, font, font size, etc that will apply to the associated Component).

To use this page it is expected that you will be a Course Plan Administrator who is authorised to set up Reference data for Course Plan Structures.

This page is accessed via the main menu.
