ADMF0280 - Maintain Admission Code (Matriculation Category)

Purpose

To allow the recording of institution-defined Admission Codes.

Subsystem Admissions
Normally Run By Enrolment/Administration Specialist
Anticipated Frequency Normally before course year, but can be run as required
Structure Block Admission Code

Use this form to record institution-defined Admission Codes. This form may be called from Maintain Tertiary Admission Centre Admission Codes (ADMF0290) via the Admission Codes button at the bottom of the block, or directly from the main menu.

These codes are used via the T-list in Maintain Admission Course Application (ADMF3240), when recording applications for admission.

Each code must be mapped to a Tertiary Admission Centre (TAC) Admission Code.

The Admission Code block contains:

  • Admission Code
  • Description
  • Tertiary Admission Cemtre Admission Code
  • Basis For Admission Type
  • Closed check box

An Admission Code can be linked to a Basis For Admission Type. This linking is not mandatory but is provided (and should be used) for institutions whose TAC (VTAC for example) does not provide both Admission Codes and Basis For Admission Types. Callista is able to derive a basis for admission from an Admission Code where this link is defined. The derivation is performed only during the TAC upload process.

More than one Admission Code can be mapped to a basis for Admission Type.

More than one Admission Code can be mapped to a TAC Admission Code but it is recommended that the mapping of institution codes to TAC Codes be a one-to-one relationship. It is also recommended that where possible, TAC Codes should also be used for institution defined codes.

Rules:

Once used in the System, Admission Codes cannot be deleted. Select the Closed check box (at bottom of block) to prevent further use.

Once used in the System, only minor description modifications should be carried out.
