Run Details

This screen can only be accessed by clicking on the Adv Stnd button in the Student Course Attempt screen. An inactive Adv Stnd button indicates that the student has no advanced standing recorded for the course attempt.

The screen is divided into two blocks:

  • Advanced Standing - displays details of the course for which advanced standing details have been recorded. Initally, the course displayed is the context record carried forward from the Student Course Attempt screen, however queries can also be performed in this block to display advanced standing details of other student course attempts.
  • Advanced Standing Unit - shows details of advanced standing in particular units. Queries can be performed in this block.

Job Parameters

  • Person ID - the identification number of a person recorded in Callista. A person may or may not be a student.
  • Course Version - the course code and version of a course attempt recorded for a student. e.g. The course 'M300.2' is version 2 of course M300. Advanced standing is approved/granted for a particular course attempt.
  • Unit - the unit code of a unit for which advanced standing has been granted/approved. The student is not necessarily enrolled in the unit.
  • Version - the version of the unit for which advanced standing has been granted/approved.
  • Advanced Standing Type - the type of advanced standing granted/approved for the unit. Advanced standing types are:
    • CREDIT
      • Full Credit - Percentage (see below) =100. The student is not required to enrol in the unit and has been awarded a number of credit points towards the completion of course requirements. This decision is typically taken when prior studies, expertise or experience satisfy all the objectives and requirements of the unit.
      • Partial Credit - Percentage (see below) less than 100. The student has been exempted from a part of the unit but must still enrol to satisfy outstanding requirements. No credit points have been awarded. This decision is typically taken when prior studies, expertise or experience satisfy some of the objectives and requirements of the unit.
    • PRECLUSION - the student is prevented from enrolling in the unit and may be required to enrol in one or more alternate units. No credit points are granted for the precluded unit. Clicking on a PRECLUSION advanced standing record causes the Alternate Unit button to display.
  • Percentage - the percentage of advanced standing credit granted for the unit.
  • Credit Pts - the number of credit points attributed to this unit for the advanced standing. A value is displayed only if the Granting Status is APPROVED or GRANTED, the Advanced Standing Type is CREDIT and the Percentage is 100, otherwise the value is 0.000.
  • Granting Status - the status of the unit advanced standing application. The granting statuses and their meanings are:
      • Approved - the application for advanced standing has been approved but the student has yet to enrol in the course attempt
      • Granted - APPROVED advanced standing records become GRANTED when the student's course attempt enrolment status becomes ENROLLED.
      • Cancelled - the student has withdrawn their request for advanced standing.
      • Revoked - the institution has withdrawn its approval of the advanced standing application.
      • Expired - a record's granting status becomes EXPIRED when the record's expiry date is reached while the granting status is still APPROVED. i.e. The student has not enrolled in the course attempt by the expiry date. A decision to approve advanced standing typically holds good for a defined period of time. If the approved advanced standing is not granted within this period of time, it is expired.
    • If the granting status is CANCELLED, REVOKED or EXPIRED, Credit Points will be zero.
    • If the granting status is APPROVED or GRANTED, and:
      • Percentage =100, the credit points for the unit will be displayed.
      • Percentage is less than 100, credit points will always be zero.
  • Unit Title - the title of the 'context' advanced standing unit. Click on other units in this block to see their titles.
  • Approved - the date on which the unit advanced standing application was approved.
  • Granted - the date on which the unit advanced standing was granted.
  • Expiry - the date on which approval of the advanced standing expires. This field only displays when the granting status is APPROVED.
  • Authorised By - the person who authorised the change in status of the advanced standing application.
  • Crs Grouped - this indicator is not used generally. Where it is used, it indicates (for progression purposes) that while the unit is owned by an organisational unit other than the one which owns the course, a decision has been made to regard the unit as satisfying part of the course's core requirements. There is no functionality within Callista which utilises this indicator.
