Run Details

This job is usually run in conjunction with STAJ0020, STAJ0040, STAJ0050, STAJ0060, STAJ0070 and STAJ0090.

The job is run to create an extract file, containing records that report load for student unit attempts which:

  • were undertaken in a non-standard semester starting after 31 August of the year prior to the Collection Year but before 31 March of the Collection Year; or
  • will be undertaken in the standard first semester or standard second semester of the Collection Year; or
  • will be undertaken in a non-standard semester which starts in the Collection Year after 31 March.

The file is created in accordance with the DEST file specification, for loading into DESTPAC, and is created for submissions 1, 2 and 3.

All data inserted in this file is drawn directly from the GOVT_STUDENT_LOAD table except:

  • the AOU code, which is derived from the GOVT_STUDENT_LOAD Teaching Responsibility Org Unit code (refer to Organisational Units in Statistics Subsystem Data Pre-requisites)
  • the 'Work Experience in Industry indicator', which is derived from the industrial indicator in GOVT_STUDENT_LOAD (Y = 2, not Y = 1), and
  • the EFTSU value, which is the GOVT_STUDENT_LOAD EFTSU value multiplied by 1000.

These records created by this job are stored in the institution specific LD file (with which statistics specialists will be familiar), in a directory specified by the 'KEEP' environment variable. This is a secure directory which users cannot (and do not need to) access.

The process 'Copy Extract Files From Secure Area' (STAJ0120) allows the LD file to be copied from the 'KEEP' directory to an accessible directory, specified by the 'USER' environment variable (refer to your system administrator).
