Update Process

This job identifies changes to students' HECS assessments that have occurred since either the last DEST HECS Due file was created or the last VARPAC file was created. Each change is recorded in database tables and can be viewed in FINF8100.

The entire process is described in VARPAC - Reporting Higher Education Contribution Scheme Variations.

 

Run Details

Method

FINJ8010 runs only in batch mode, through the Job Control & Scheduling subsystem.

Place in cycle

This job is run as the first step in producing a VARPAC variations file. It is logical to run a bulk fee assessment job prior to this job, to update any fee assessments affected by recent student enrolment changes.

 

Job Parameters

This job does not require the recording of parameters and there is no parameter form.

 

Job Output

Output from this job is in the form of records written to database tables. The records are viewed in FINF8100. That form is also where the process that generates a VARPAC input file is initiated.
