This form is used to create and maintain notes associated with student course attempts. When creating a student course attempt note, an enrolment note type must be specified. The form is typically used to create notes for inclusion in academic transcripts, but may also be used to record other types of student course attempt notes.

The form is entered via the Notes navigation button displayed in the Student Course Attempt or the Student Unit Attempt screens of the Record Enrolments form (ENRF3000).

When accessed from ENRF3000, this form is entered in context, displaying student course attempt details. Any previously created course attempt notes for the context student are also displayed.

Notes can be created, stored and retrieved in a variety of formats. The currently available formats are:

  • Microsoft Word
  • Microsoft Excel
  • Text
  • Other OLE (permitting virtually any other format)

Note:

  • NCA notes are currently available in Text format only. Future Developments might enable the portablitiy of all other formats.

When creating a note for inclusion in an academic transcript, the enrolment note type selected from the LOV must be one that is mapped to the System enrolment note type ACAD-REC. Note that as of release 1.4.2, it is not possible to include a student course attempt note on an academic transcript. The strategy for including text in academic transcripts is being reviewed in order to provide a more flexible solution.

For further details on the use of the notes facility, refer to the Notes Facility section in the General System Functions and Facilities overview.
