Course Group Membership

Explanation
This block is used to assign a course version to pre-defined course groups. Any functionality specified as applying to the course group will be applied to the course version by virtue of its membership of the group. Reports may be generated by course group, resulting in the selection of all group members.
Example

To assign a particular course version to membership of a course group using the Maintain Course Group Membership form:
  1. Enter Insert Mode.
  2. Select the appropriate course group from the list of values (or key a valid course group code) in the Course Group Code field of a blank record.
  3. Save.
Rules:
  • The course group to which the course version is assigned must exist in the System.
  • Course groups are created and maintained using the Maintain Course Groups form. The same form may also be used to assign course versions to course groups, particularly where a number of course versions are to be assigned to one course group.
  • A course version cannot be added against a CLOSED course group.
  • Course group membership cannot be altered once the course version has been made INACTIVE.
To modify course group membership for a particular course version using the Maintain Course Group Membership form:
Rules:
  • Fields in the Course Group Membership block are protected from modification. Modification of group memberships can only be achieved by adding new course groups and deleting old course groups.
To delete a course version from membership of a course group using the Maintain Course Group Membership form:
  1. Ensure that the correct course version is displayed in the Course Version block.
  2. Select the desired course group record in the Course Group Membership block.
  3. Delete record.
  4. Save.
