Universities are required to report statistics concerning courses offered and enrolments in courses, to the government. For HE installations, these statistics are aggregated against Government Course Type codes (element 310). VET Course Types can be defined in HE Callista installations for Advanced Standing purposes. Where a set of institution-defined course types has been defined (CRSF1110), each must be mapped to a particular Government Course Type. The following are examples of Course Types:

To create a new Government Course Type record using the Maintain Government Course Types form:

To delete a Government Course Type record using the Maintain Government Course Types form:

Rules/Notes: If a Government Course Type has been assigned to an institution defined course type, it cannot be deleted. It can be closed, preventing any further use, by selecting the Closed check box. A Government Course Type cannot be closed if any of the course types mapped to it are open. |
To modify a Government Course Type record using the Maintain Government Course Types form:

Rules/Notes: A Government Course Type should only be modified where the change is to correct an incorrectly entered description. A new Government Course Type should normally be created, in accordance with Government specifications. A Government Course Type can be closed, preventing any further use, by selecting the Closed check box. |
Changes within this form will have the following notable effects: Adding a Government Course Type permits its use in the definition of an institution defined course type (in CRSF1110) and hence for Government statistical reporting. |
