Overview

Two different types of Search and Select pop ups are available in Callista.

One type of pop up appears when you click on the Search link in a LOV. See LOV Search and Select below.

The other type is available in other circumstances in Callista pages e.g, when adding a record to a list. See Other Search and Select below.
Note: A Quick Search and Advanced Search facility is also available in lists via the Quicksearch icon. See Working with Lists.

LOV Search and Select

An LOV Search and Select popup in Basic Search mode will look something like this.

All records are initially displayed by default.

Advanced Search

Click on the Advanced button to display the Advanced Search operators as shown below:

The Advanced Search operators provide a more precise range of searching options.

There is also an Add Fields poplist available to add other Search fields if required.

To use the Search and Select function:

• Select the 'All' radio button to return records that satisfy either all the search criteria or
  select the 'Any' radio button to return records that satisfy any of the search criteria.
• Enter values in the search fields and select the required operator(s).
• Note: Any fields that are left blank are not considered by the Search Function.
  Upper and Lower case entries are considered the same.
  
• Click on the Search button to filter the records to include only records which satisfy the search criteria. These are includeed as a list which can be re-sorted if required. A message 'No records to display' is displayed if no records satisfy the search criteria.
• Select the record(s) and click OK to select the record as in the original LOV.
  

Basic Search

In Basic Search Mode, records can be filtered using the same process as above, except that with a Basic Search, the search fields behave as with the 'Contains' operator above.

Other Search and Select popups

The Search and Select function is also available in some Callista pages.

e.g. The Search and Select pop up shown below displays when you click on Add in CRSW2040.

Basic Search

Record search values in the fields and press Enter to filter the records in the list.
The search function will return all records that have the search text in that field. (As for the 'Contains' operator above).
Select the required record(s) and click on the Use Selected button.

Advanced Search

Click on the Advanced Search toolbar button to provide a comprehensive range of searching operators.
These behave in the same way as in the Advanced Search operators described for LOV Search and Select described above.

Additional Fields are not available in this type of Search and Select pop up.

Navigation

For LOV Search and Select pop ups:

Click on the Search link to open the Search and Select pop up.

In Advanced Search mode, click on the Basic button to change to Basic Search.
In Basic Search mode, click on the Advanced button to display the Advanced Search operators.

Use the Search and Select pop up to search for the required record and then select it for your LOV selection.

For Other Search and Select pop ups:

Click on the Advanced Search toolbar button to display the Advanced Search operators.
In Advanced Search mode, click on the Hide Advance Search toolbar button to change to Basic Search.

Use the Search and Select function to filter the set of records displayed.
Select the required records in the list and then click on the Use Selected button to return to the calling page with those recordsEnter to display the filtered list.
