This form is used to automatically Allocate Students to Non-repeating Mandatory Activities defined for their Unit Offering Option (e.g. mandatory lectures with only one offering).
Activities are defined for units in CRSF2800.
The a
llocation of students to non-mandatory activities or activities with multiple offerings may be conducted in ENRF4200 or, by students, in the Student Unit Attempt Activity Update page in Student Connect.

The Exception Report produced by this job shows Exceptions that are encountered when Allocating Students to Activities.

The Bulk Allocation of Students to Activities block contains:

Parameters Tab

  • Unit Version Owning Org Unit
  • Unit Version Teaching Org Unit
  • Sector

  • Unit Class
  • Activity Type
  • Allow Exceed Published limit check box

More Tab

  • No clashes allowed check box

OR

Allow Clashes With

  • All non-repeating mandatory activities check box
  • All non-repeating optional activities check box
  • All repeating activities check box
  • All activities check box

Rule/Notes:

 

To Allocate a Student to Non-Repeating Mandatory Activities:

  • Go to ENRJ4700 where the Parameters tab is initially selected
  • Enter the Teaching Period from the LOV (this is the only mandatory field)
  • To further limit the range of Activities affected, enter information in the other fields via selecting from their LOVs
  • Select the 'Allow Exceed Published limit' check box, to exceed the published limit of the unit. (Published limits are defined for an activity in CRSF2800).
  • Select the More tab
  • Select the Clashes checkbox(es) as required
  • Run job

Rules/Notes:

The user cannot select 'No clashes allowed' check box at the same time as any of the other check boxes on the More tab.

If the user does not have the CLASH-OVRD Advanced Security Function, then they will not be able to deselect the ‘No Clashes Allowed:’ check box in the parameter form. 
The CLASH-OVRD Advanced Security can be granted to a user in SECF0062 or to a User role in SECF0063.

The user cannot select the 'Allow clashes with all non-repeating mandatory activities:', 'All non-repeating optional activities:' and 'All repeating activities:' check boxes at the same time. The 'All activities' check box should be selected instead.
The user cannot select 'All activities:' check box with any of the other clash check boxes.

Students will not be allocated to an activity that is a part of a group regardless of overrides.

If the 'No Clashes Allowed checkbox:' is deselected, then at least one clash check box must be selected.
