Maintain Course Offering Pattern Delivery Periods

See also: Introduction to Delivery Groups

A Delivery Period is a period or block of time defined by a start and end date, during which one or more units of study are delivered to a group or groups of students (via Delivery Groups) in one or more Course Offering Patterns, or delivered directly to students in one or more Course Offering Patterns (without a Delivery Group).

For information about Delivery Group see Introduction to Delivery Groups.

The primary application of this functionality is the maintenance of blocks of time for release groups, into which TAFE User Choice Apprentices students are placed in order to undertake the study of their chosen units. The definition of each Delivery Period will include published and real limits, which will be utilised when students are allocated to the periods. A Rollover indicator will also allow the delivery period calendar instance to be rolled over from year to year as part of the calendar rollover process. The definition of Course Offering Pattern Delivery Periods will also include published and real limits, allowing a breakdown for each Course Offering Pattern associated with each Delivery Period. Further breakdown of Delivery Period limits will be achievable at the Delivery Group Period level, via the limits specified for each Delivery Group Offering.

A Delivery Period, with its associated critical dates, will be automatically created as a DELIVERY calendar instance in the background when the period dates are defined in the form. If a period with matching start and end dates already exists in the academic period of the context Course Offering Pattern, the existing calendar instance will be used as the Delivery Period.

This form will also allow navigation to:

  • A 'Shared By' pop-up block, which will display details of Course Offering Pattern Delivery Group Offerings and Course Offering Pattern Delivery Periods that share the context Delivery Period.
  • An 'Inquire On Dates' pop-up block, which will display all of the date alias instances in the context Delivery Period calendar instance.
  • CALF0512 Maintain Date Alias Instances, allowing users with the appropriate security access to manually maintain date alias instances in the context Delivery Period calendar instance.
  • The Maintain Delivery Period Unit Offering Option / Unit Offering Option Activities / Unit Offering Option Activity Groups function, where each Delivery Period can be mapped to one or more Unit Offering Options, Activity Offerings or Activity Groups. These mappings will define what is delivered in each period.

This form is accessed through CRSF1800, via the Delivery Periods button (bottom, right). It can also be accessed from CRSF1500.
