Application for Intermission

This section includes:

Overview

The Connect Application for Intermission functionality enables students to apply for a course intermission via the Internet.

Intermission details are available to the student, for example, current applications and intermission records, depending on the configuration determined by the institution. The Oracle Workflow engine and Callista's generic tracking facility have been utilised to provide workflow integration with Callista to process the application.

Following detection of an intermission requiring authorisation, the Oracle Workflow engine will be invoked to manage the process. The Tracking sub-system provides a visible means of following workflow progress and storing temporary data. The recording of the intermission invokes the same core Callista update in both the automatic and authorised processes. Oracle Workflow manages control of workflow, notification to relevant parties and management of action timeouts.
