CRSF11K0 - Maintain Occupation Type

Purpose

The purpose of this function is to maintain institution-defined Occupation Type values

Use this function to maintain institution-defined Occupation Type values. Each institution-defined value must map to Government Occupation Type value for reporting purposes. See How the Government Statistics Process Works for details.

The following are examples of Occupation Types:

3112-13 EARTH SCIENCE TECHNICAL OFFICER
3129-15 MINE DEPUTY
4411-11 CARPENTER AND JOINER
4411-13 CARPENTER
GEN16 CLERICAL and BUSINESS - Non industry specific training
GEN17 BASIC COMPUTING - Non industry specific training

Invoked from the main menu and/or STAF112L Maintain Government Occupation Type. Government Occupation Type passed in context.

 

 

The Occupation Type block contains:

  • Occupation Type
  • Description
  • Govt Occupation Type
  • Closed check box
  • Comments
  • Explanation

Rules/Notes:

 

To create a new institution defined Occupation type:

  • Enter Insert mode
  • Enter the new code in the Occupation Type field of a blank record
  • Enter the corresponding description for the Occupation Type in the Description field
  • Select the Government Occupation Type to which the new institution defined Occupation Type maps from the list of values (or key a valid value) in the Govt Occupation Type field
  • Record any comments applicable to this Occupation Type
  • Record an explanation for each Occupation Type. Occupation Type explanations are used as part of the GOVT-STATS application in Callista Connect
  • Save

Rules/Notes:

More than one active institution defined Occupation Type can exist for each Government Occupation type.

Institution defined Occupation codes MUST be unique. 

 

To modify a institution defined Occupation Type:

  • Find the record to be modified
  • Modify the record as required
  • Save

Rules/Notes:

Once in use, an institution defined Occupation Type should not be modified.

To delete a institution defined Occupation Type:

  • Find the record to be deleted
  • Locate the cursor in the record to be deleted
  • Delete record
  • Save

Rules/Notes:

An Occupation Type cannot be deleted if it has been used in a Course Occupation Type record.

An Occupation Type can be closed preventing any further use by selecting the Closed check box.
