This form is used to register a student's request for Special Consideration in assessment for a unit.

Special Consideration Applications can be recorded for students in two ways:

  • Individually for one or more unit Assessment Items.
  • For all unit Assessment Items by selecting the Default To All button.

Details of Special Consideration Categories are created and maintained in the Special Consideration Categories form (ASSF01L0).

Details of sought outcomes and actual outcomes are created and maintained in the Special Consideration Outcomes form (ASSF01M0).

The Student Unit Attempt block contains:

  • Person ID

Student Unit Attempt

Student Unit Attempts can be selected in two ways:

  • Perform query to locate students. Queries can be performed on single fields or on combinations of any field except Name
  • Select the Find Person button and perform a query to locate student. Select OK to return to the main form

Select the Student Unit Attempt Record.

 

Special Consideration Application

Registering Special Consideration Applications individually:

  • From the LOV, select the Assessment Item for which Special Consideration is being sought
  • Date Received defaults to the current date. However, an earlier date can be entered
  • Select the Category, the student is applying for (Mandatory)
  • Optionally record the Estd Proc Days (Estimated Processing Days) This indicates the time in which the application will be reviewed and a decision made
  • Optionally select the Sought Outcome. A Sought Outcome is the student's desired outcome

Where all or the majority of unit Assessment Items are to be registered for Special Consideration, the Default To All button can be used.

  • After selecting the required student unit attempt, select the Default To All button to display the overlay.
  • The Date Received is automatically set as the current date. However, an earlier date can be entered.
  • Select the Category, the student is applying for (mandatory).
  • Optionally record the Estimated Processing Days. This indicates the time in which the application will be reviewed and a decision made.
  • Optionally record the Sought Outcome. A sought outcome is the student's desired outcome.
  • Select OK to return to the main screen.
  • A Special Consideration Application is created for each unit Assessment Item, with the exception of those already existing. The detail of each application is defaulted from the information entered in the Default Application Detail window. Any Assessment Items not required can be easily deleted.

To record Special Consideration Application outcomes

  • Select the required Special Consideration Application record.
  • Select the Actual Outcome for the application.
  • The Date Notified is inserted when the correspondence report Notification of Special Consideration Application Outcome to Student (ASSR4917) is run.
  • The Application Tracking ID is not yet functional. It relates to a future Callista release.

Selecting the Other Assess Item Details button displays further information about the unit Assessment Item.

Rules/Notes:

A Special Consideration Application can be entered more than once for a student unit Assessment Item provided the date received is different each time.

Special Consideration Applications cannot be registered where the student unit attempt is DISCONTINUED, UNCONFIRMED or INVALID.
