Statistics Glossary

The terms used in the Statistics subsystem - Government Reporting are described below. The relationships between data, and concepts used in this subsystem, are explained in detail in the Understanding Statistics section. Refer to the DEST manual for definition of terms relating directly to DEST reporting.

FIELD NAME DESCRIPTION

Government Submission Snapshot a snapshot of Callista data from which extracts used in DESTPAC are produced.

Government Snapshot Control used to specify which data is included in particular government snapshots.

Government Semester semesters specified by DEST element 353 for use in government statistical reporting. These may differ to institution semesters.

Government Semester Load Calendar used to specify the load calendars (and hence associated teaching calendars) contributing to a particular government snapshot/government semester.

Enrolment Statistics Snapshot
a snapshot of Callista enrolments data which is used:

to determine the student records to be included for government reporting.
as a source of some data for government snapshots.
as an aid in enrolment analysis.
