Explanation

This form is used to record and maintain the set of Government special course types. Universities are required to report to government, statistics concerning courses offered and enrolments in courses. These statistics included the attribute Government Special Course Type (element 312) specified in the Data Dictionary of the DEST manual. A special course is a course which is of special interest to DEST. The values for special course type are assigned to course versions.

An AMC Special Course

To create a new Government special course type record using the Maintain Government Special Course Types form:

1. Enter Insert Mode.
2. Enter the new DEST code in the Govt Special Course Type field of a blank record.
3. Enter the corresponding description for the DEST code in the Description field.
4. Save.

To delete a Government special course type record using the Maintain Government Special Course Types form:

1. Find the record to be deleted.
2. Locate the cursor in the record to be deleted.
3. Delete record.
4. Save.

To modify a Government special course type record using the Maintain Government Special Course Types form:

1. Find the record to be modified.
2. Modify the record as required.
3. Save.

Changes within this form will have the following notable effects:

• Adding a Government special course type permits it to be assigned as an attribute of a course and hence for DEST statistical reporting.
• Closing a Government special course type prevents any further use.
