The diagram below describes the relationships between data elements, and in particular, how they combine to create institutional structures. It shows the broad relationships between the main data groups within the subsystem, and can be used to determine the necessary order in which to create records for institutions, organisational units and locations.


The direction of an arrow indicates the relationship between two data elements. A solid line indicates that the relationship is mandatory. A broken line indicates that the relationship is optional.
