Institution Status

Explanation
An institution status defines the institution's current level of activity in a way that may have particular meaning for that institution. However, each such institution status must be assigned a system institution status which is recognised by the system for other functionality.
Example

To create an institution status using the Maintain Institution Status form:
  1. Enter Insert mode.
  2. Enter the desired name of the institution status in the Institution Status field of a blank record
  3. Enter a meaningful description for the institution status in the Description field.
  4. Select the appropriate system institution status from the list of values (or key a valid value).
  5. Save.
Rules:
  • On entering a new institution status, the system institution status defaults to ACTIVE.
To modify an institution status using the Maintain Institution Status form:
  1. Find the record to be modified.
  2. Modify the record as required.
  3. Save.
Rules:
  • If an institution status has been used in the definition of an institution its description should only be modified where the change is minor and does not alter the meaning.
  • An institution status can be closed, preventing any further use, by selecting the Closed check box.
  • Once an institution status has been assigned to one or more institutions, its system institution status should not be changed. A new institution status should normally be created.
To delete an institution status using the Maintain Institution Status form:
  1. Find the record to be deleted.
  2. Locate the cursor in the record to be deleted.
