The use of a specific disbursement formula in a set can be confined to income from a particular group of students liable for the fee type. This is achieved by recording text for a rule that limits the application of the formula according to characteristics of the student or the student course attempt. For example, the rule text could specify that a formula only applies to income from students studying off campus. The rule can be seen in this form. The form also gives access to RULF2000 where the text of the rule is created or edited. At present only one rule applies for formulas, the 'Fee Disbursement Formula Rule'. The text for this rule can be different for each formula, within the limits afforded by the syntax components supplied for use with the rule. How the fee disbursement formula rule worksFor each student record being processed in Process Disbursement Snapshot, FINJ7300, the rules engine is called for each formula. It is passed the student's Person ID number and the course code of the student's course attempt. Where rule text exists, the formula is only applied to income derived from the student's liability if the rule is valid for that student and/or course attempt. Where no rule text applies, no restrictions are placed on application of the formula. |
For the formula selected in FINF7210, this form displays the description of the rule and the rule text, where recorded. To create or edit the text for the Fee Disbursement Formula Rule, access RULF2000 via the Edit Rule navigation button. |
