Unit Offering Option

Explanation
The Unit Offering Option block (context block) displays the current offering option (context record) from the Maintain Unit Offering Options form. The displayed records in the Unit Offering Option Note block are the notes for the context record
Example
When a unit offering option is displayed in the Maintain Unit Offering Options form and the Unit Offering Option Notes navigation button selected, then this form will display that same offering option as the context record and any existing notes relating to this record will be displayed.

To inquire on the unit offering option notes of a unit offering option other than that initially displayed:
This block does not permit a query to be entered. It is necessary to:
  1. Re-query the unit version and/or the unit offering and/or the unit offering pattern and/or the unit offering option.
  2. Navigate back to the Maintain Unit Offering Option Notes form.

Unit Offering Option Note

Explanation
This function allows additional information to be attached to unit offering options in the form of notes. Notes of many types may be created, each type reflecting the common purpose of the notes associated with it.

Notes may be created, stored and retrieved in almost any format. The currently available formats are:

  • Microsoft Word
  • Microsoft Excel
  • Text
  • Other OLE (permitting virtually any other format)

Note:

  • NCA notes are currently available in Text format only. Future Developments might enable the portablitiy of all other formats.

Note:

  • standards established by the institution should be used to determine to which data notes should be attached. Notes may be attached to data at the following levels:
    • Course Version
    • Course Offering
    • Course Offering Pattern
    • Course Offering Option
    • Unit Version
    • Unit Offering
    • Unit Offering Pattern
Example
Notes of type HANDBOOK could be created to record notes for publishing in a University handbook.
