Unit Reference Code |
Explanation |
Each unit version is identified within the system by its unique combination of unit code and version number. This form is used to record alternative reference codes to identify a unit version for other specific purposes. This feature is particularly useful for recording codes used by other systems to identify a unit version. |
Example |
An interactive voice response (IVR) system may use numerical codes to identify unit versions. In SIS, the same unit version may be represented by an alphanumeric unit code and a version number. Using the Maintain Unit Reference Codes form it is possible to record the IVR code against this system's unit code and version number to provide a link between the two systems. |
