Course Offering Option

Explanation
The Course Offering Option block (context block) displays the current course offering option (context record) from the Maintain Course Offering Options form. The displayed records in the Course Offering Option Note block are the notes for the context record.
Example
If course offering option A300 - Bachelor of Arts, version x, Standard Academic Year, Falls Creek Campus, Full Time, On campus is displayed in the Maintain Course Offering Options form, and the Course Offering Option Notes navigation button is selected, then this form will display A300 - Bachelor of Arts, version x, Standard Academic Year, Falls Creek Campus, Full Time, On campus as the context record and any existing notes relating to this record will be displayed.


To inquire on the course offering option notes of an offering option other than that initially displayed:
This block does not permit a query to be entered. It is necessary to:
  1. Re-query the course version and/or the course offering and/or the course offering instance and/or the course offering pattern and/or the course offering option.
  2. Navigate back to the Maintain Course Offering Option Notes form.


Course Offering Option Note

Explanation
This function allows additional information to be attached to course offering options in the form of notes. Notes of many types may be created, each type reflecting the common purpose of the notes asssociated with it.

Notes may be created, stored and retrieved in almost any format. The currently available formats are:

  • Microsoft Word
  • Microsoft Excel
  • Text
  • Other OLE (permitting virtually any other format)

Note:

  • NCA notes are currently available in Text format only. Future Developments might enable the portablitiy of all other formats.

Note:

  • standards established by the institution should be used to determine to which data notes should be attached. Notes may be attached to data at the following levels:
    • Course Version
    • Course Offering
    • Course Offering Pattern
    • Unit Version
    • Unit Offering
    • Unit Offering Pattern
    • Unit Offering Option
Example
Notes of type HANDBOOK could be created to record notes for publishing in a University handbook.
