Update Process |
This process updates the outcome status of unsuccessful admission applications that have requested reconsideration in the next available admission period so that they may be considered again for selection in the new admission period. The process looks for admission applications that have an outcome status of NO-QUOTA or REJECTED and also have the Request for Reconsideration checkbox selected in Direct Admissions - Course ( ADMF3240).Applications that meet the criteria are then checked to see if their course offering option is available in the next admission period. If these conditions are met, the application outcome status is reset to PENDING and the Request for Reconsideration checkbox is deselected (this can be reset manually as required). |
Run Details |
The job is typically scheduled to run as a standing request nightly in the Job Scheduler. Each night this job runs, it checks to see if the value of the Initialise Admission Period date alias matches the current date. If the dates mismatch, the job cancels. If the dates match, the update process is performed. The Initialise Admission Period date alias instance value would normally be near the beginning of the admission period. For details on setting up the Initialise Admission Period date alias, refer to Configuring Admission Calendars in the subsystem specialist overview or the Maintain Admission Calendar Configurations form ( ADMF02R0).Refer to the Job Control and Scheduling subsystem for details on scheduling and running standing requests. |
