Use this form to record institution defined codes for Basis for Admission Type.

These codes are used to define the grounds for an admission (or entry category). The data maintained in this form is used via the T-list in Maintain Admission Course Application (ADMF3240).

Each code must be mapped to a government basis for admission type (DEST element 327). More than one institution code may map to a single government code.

It is recommended that the mapping of institution codes to government codes be a one-to-one relationship. It is also recommended that where possible, government codes should also be used for institution defined codes.

To change the status of the current Course Transfer Default Basis for Admission Types:

  • Untick the Course Transfer Default checkbox.
  • Tick the checkbox for the Basis for Admission type that is to be the default.
  • Save.

To change the status of the current default Basis for Admission type to closed:

  • Untick the Course Transfer Default checkbox.
  • Tick the checkbox for the Basis for Admission type that is to be the default.
  • Tick the Closed checkbox for the 'old' Course Transfer Default Basis for Admission Type.
  • Save.

Rules:

  • Once used in the System, basis for admission type codes cannot be deleted. Select the Closed indicator to prevent further use.
  • Once used in the System, only minor description modifications should be carried out.
  • When a Government Basis for Admission Type has multiple Basis for Admission Types, only one Basis for Admission Type can be the Course Transfer Default.
  • There will be a validation within the form (ADMF0270) to ensure that one and only one Institute defined Basis of Admission Course Transfer Default code is specified per Government Basis of Admission Code.
