This form is used to maintain the Callista ID and password for Callista Connect users and to quickly block users' access to secure applications. This form is typically used when a student advises that they have lost or forgotten their password. Users may change their password themselves through the Callista Connect Change Password application. Prior to changing their password or having it set in this form, users can access secured web applications by authenticating with their user ID and default password as defined by the institution. For example: the institution-defined default password may be the user's Date Of Birth (DDMM = 1104 = 11th April). However, if the Use Default Password to Authenticate indicator is NOT set in the Maintain Self Serve Configuration form (SSFF1200), the Self Serve User MUST change the Password when they first access of the web applications. This form only supports the system authentication type CALLISTA ID, mapped to Self Serve User Categories in the Maintain Self Serve User Category form (SSFF1700). It is assumed that other authentication methods will have their own specific mechanisms for changing passwords. For further information on self serve facility security refer to Understanding Callista Connect Manager. |

Rules/Notes: It is usual to verify the identity of a person before re-setting their password. The default Password is established in the Default Self Serve User Password rule in the Maintain Rules form (RULF2000). This form can be accessed via SSFF1200. If the default Password is derived from elements of person Date Of Birth, the System cannot reset the Password to the default value if no Date Of Birth is recorded for the person. This form is not normally used to create a Self Serve User Record where none already exists. In the majority of cases, a Self Serve User Record is created by the System when a user first changes their Password from the default value. When a Self Serve User Record is inserted, a warning is displayed if the person fails the User Eligibility Rule Check (see SSFF1200) Users who no longer satisfy the User Eligibility Rule Check (see SSFF1200) have their Self Serve User Record deleted by the System. This is to prevent invalid users from achieving authentication when attempting to login to secure applications. Validations include:
