Security Role

This form is used to define Proposal Type restrictions for a Security Role set up in Maintain Security Role Function Grants (SECF0063). Institutions can use this form to control the type of proposals that a person with a particular user role can create.

This form can be accessed via the Maintain Security Role Function Grants (SECF0063) form in which case it opens in context of the Security Role from that form.
It can also be opened directly from the menu, in query mode.

Note that Proposal Type Restrictions will only be available for roles, and not for individuals (via SECF0062).

The form contains two blocks:

Security Role block:

Displays details of the Security Role context.

Security Role Proposal Type Restriction block:

This block lists the Proposal Types which users with this security role can create.
For other Proposal Types, the user can view the proposal, but not create it.

Records in this block, together with restrictions recorded for a proposal type in PAAW0200, determine which Proposal Types can be created or updated by a user with this security role.
For example, if a Proposal Type has the Restrict Access indicator selected in PAAW0200 and they do not have a user security role which has a record for that proposal type this block, then they will not be able to create update a proposal of that type (see PAAW1000).
However, if a Proposal Type does not have the Restrict Access indicator selected in PAAW0200 they will be able to create or update a proposal of that Proposal Type regardless of their Security Role Proposal Type Restrictions here.
