Scholarship types are used to classify the scholarships awarded to students according to the provider of the scholarship. For research students, scholarship details are recorded using form RESF3500, accessed from the Candidature Details form (RESF3211) via the Scholarship button.

The Scholarship Type block contains:

• Scholarship Type
• Description
• Closed check box
• Govt Scholarship Type
• Org Unit Code
• Person ID
• Tracking Type
• Include in ARTS Extract check box
• Include in AHEGS check box

Use this form to record the Scholarship types used within the institution.

Use the LOV to select the appropriate Govt Scholarship Type. The Scholarship Type is mapped to the government values defined in STAF1130 and is reported in the Liability Status file.

Once used in the system, the Scholarship Type cannot be deleted. Select the Closed indicator to prevent future use of that type.

Entry of an Org Unit Code or Person ID is optional, but can be used to record details of the provider or supervisor (within the institution) of scholarships.

Selecting the Include in ARTS Extract indicator results in the scholarship details with this Scholarship Type being reported to the ARTS results file (refer to TAC Academic Results Requisition process).

Notes/Rules:

Examples of scholarship types could include APA (AUST. POSTGRADUATE AWARDS), OPRS (OVERSEAS POSTGRADUATE RESEARCH SCHOLARSHIP), CHURCHILL, OTHER.

If the selected Scholarship is a Commonweath Scholarship, then a COMMONWEALTH SCHOLARSHIP lamp will display.

Type Code An entry cannot be made for both Org Unit Code and Person ID.

Validation rules restrict a student to having only one current scholarship of a nominated Scholarship Type

A Scholarship Type record cannot be created with a closed Government Scholarship Type.

Select the Include in AHEGS check box, if this Special Requirement is to included in the Australian Higher Education Graduation Statement.
