GENW2100 - Comments

Overview

The Comments page can be used to record comments for some entities in Callista SMS, e.g. Admission Applications (from ADMW1000).
These comments are a means of communicating extra information about the entity, and other users can add or respond to them as appropriate.
To record or view comments on this page, click on the comments button on the calling page.
This opens the Comments pop up, where the comments and replies are listed in order.
The number of comments unread by you, is displayed as part of the Comments button on the calling page.
In the Comments page, the comments can also be sorted or marked as read, however they cannot be deleted once they have been added.

A Comments button comments is displayed on the calling page to all users who can access that page.
If you do not have security access to GENW2100 a message will display when you click on the Comments button. Security access can be granted to you via SECF0062 or to your security role via SECF0063.

This page cannot be opened directly opened from the menu.

To View Comments

  1. Click on the comments button in a calling page, such as ADMW1000 to display the Comments pop up.
  2. If necessary, change the sort order by selecting the Sort option from the drop down to display new comments at the top (Descending), or at the bottom (Ascending).
  3. To close the Comments pop up, click on the Close button.

To Make a New Comment

  1. Click on the comments button in a calling page, such as ADMW1000.
  2. Click on the New Comment button to open the New Comment pop up.
  3. Record your comment in the text field.
  4. Click on the Add button.
  5. Your comment will be saved, with the date and time in sequence with the other comments.
    Because your comment is automatically 'marked as read' by you, it will always have a white background for you.
    Once it is added, your comment cannot be edited or deleted.

To Reply to a Comment

  1. Click on the comments icon in a calling page, such as ADMW1000.
  2. Click on the Reply link for the Comment to which you wish to reply, to open the Reply pop up.
  3. Record your reply.
  4. Click on the Add button.
  5. Your reply will be displayed below the comment to which it replies (and below any pre-existing replies).
    Each reply is progressively indented relative to the comment/reply to which it replies.
    Because your reply is automatically 'marked as read' by you, it will always have a grey background for you.

To Mark Comments or Replies as Read

  1. Click on the comments button in a calling page, such as ADMW1000.
  2. Read the unread comment or reply (These have a yellow background).
  3. Click on the Mark as Read link for the comment. (This is only available for unread comments)
    The background colour of the comment or reply will change.
  4. To mark all comments and their replies as read, click on the Mark All as Read button.
    If all comments and replies have been read, the Mark All as Read button disappears.
    Note that comments that have been marked as read, cannot subsequently be 'unread'.
