FINF1W00 - Maintain Person Commonwealth Assistance Notice

Purpose

This form allows the user to view a list of all the Commonwealth Assistance Notices (CAN's) created for the context student and produce an extract for a selected CAN.

This form can be used to view all the CANs created for a particular student and select a CAN for which to produce an Extract. It can also be used to manually change the status of a CAN.

Any student enrolled in a unit will have Commonwealth Assistance Notice(CAN) records here if: a) they have sought HECS-HELP, OS-HELP, FEE-HELP, SA-HELP or VET FEE-HELP assistance and/or are Commonwealth Supported for that unit, or b) have a Student Status that maps to a Government Student Status of 250, 260, 261 or 262 and that Student Status has the Commonwealth Assisted indicator selected in ENRF0161,

The details displayed for a CAN include the following:

  • Extract - including Date/Time, Correspondence Type, Comments and Extract Request Number
  • Fee Period
  • Date of Issue
  • Status
  • Manual Update Indicator
  • CAN Status Comments

This form can de accessed directly from the Callista menu.

 

The Person block contains:

  • Person ID
  • Sex
  • Date of Birth

  • Status
  • Manual Update Indicator
  • CAN Status Comments

Rule/Notes:

A lamp displays if the context student is DECEASED or ENCUMBERED.

The Report button navigates to FINR0400.

To update the status of a CAN:

  • Go to FINF1W00
  • Query for person
  • Change the status as required for the selected CAN
  • Save.

Rules/Notes:

If the status of a CAN is changed to VALID when another CAN in this Fee Period is also VALID, then a warning is displayed.

If the status of a CAN is updated to INVALID, then a CAN Status Comment must be added.

A CAN cannot have its status changed to a value that is closed.

If a user updates the CAN status the Manual Update Indicator is automatically selected upon saving. This indicates that the record should not be considered by the Update CAN Status Job - FINJ6210. A user can choose to deselect the Manual Update indicator if they would like the CAN to again be considered by the Update CAN Status Job. FINJ6210 will pick up a record where the Manual Update Indicator is set, if the user chooses to do so by selecting the appropriate parameters for the job.

To produce a CAN Detail Report:

  • Go to FINF1W00
  • Query for person
  • Select the required CAN
  • Click on the Report button
  • Run FINR0400.
