Student Course Attempt Enrolment Rule Rule Waiver Calendar Instance |
This form enables the waiving of individual System Wide Enrolment Credit Point Restrictions Rules, Course Wide Enrolment Restrictions Rules and Course Wide Enrolment Credit Point Restrictions Rules. When a student enrols in a course, their Course Attempt may inherit such rules which are tested when they are enrolled in units or unit sets. This form opens in the context of a Student Course Attempt and all such rules pertaining to that Student Course Attempt, whether waived or not plus if they are breached or not, are displayed. Within this form the user can waive such rules or clear an existing waiver for a rule. For Enrolment rules the waivers can also be applied only for particular academic calendar instances. The function will be accessed from ENRF3000 by selecting the ‘Waive Crs Rule’ button in the Student Unit Attempt screen. |

Rules/Notes: Applicable rules for the context Student Course Attempt are determined and tested when this form is opened. NO CURRENT COURSE RULE BREACHES lamp displays if the rule check finds no rule breaches. The Rule Breach message displays if the rule is currently breached. Once the rule is waived and rules rechecked, the breach text will no longer be displayed. The Student Course Enrolment Rule Waiver Calendar Instance block is only active if the context waived rule is an Enrolment Credit Point Restrictions rule. Records created here only take effect if the rule text contains a reference to a Calendar Type. If the user has access to the AUTO-RLCHK enrolment step, then once the waivers are saved the status of the effected Student Unit Attempts will be updated and the rule breaches re-displayed refreshed. If the user does not have access to the AUTO-RLCHK enrolment step then a lamp will be displayed with the message ‘RULES NOT CHECKED’. |

Rules/Notes: Note that ENRF4170 is only accessible from ENRF3000 if a student unit attempt already exists in that form. To access ENRF4170 when no unit attempt is present, it is necessary to go to that form via the menu and query for the context Student Course Attempt. Waived Rule Person ID defaults to current user and date defaults to current date but these values may be changed. Only staff members can approve rule waivers. Consequently, the Staff Member checkbox in the Find Person form, accessed from the Waive Rule Person ID field, is permanently selected so that only staff Person IDs are included in the search. (To include both staff and student Person IDs in the search, select the Student checkbox.) Waived Comments can only be added if the rule has been waived. |
