This form is used to enquire on Unit Set Rules. It displays the Unit Set Rules attached to the context Unit Set.

Administrators with the appropriate security level can select the Edit Rule button located on this form to access RULF2000 where they can modify and create Unit Set Rules.

The form is normally accessed in two ways:

  • Directly from the menu. This method allows you to perform queries on Unit Set details.
  • In context via the Unit Set Rules button in the Maintain Unit Sets form (CRSF4200).

Available Unit Set Rule Types for a Unit Set are:

  • Unit Set
  • Unit Set Completion
  • Unit Set Incompatible
  • Unit Set Prerequisite

Where a Unit Set Rule Description has yet to be specified for a Rule Type, an UNDEFINED lamp is displayed adjacent to the Rule Description.

The Rule text for the highlighted Rule Description is displayed in the Rule Text field.

For further details on the use of Unit Sets, refer to the Course Structure and Planning overview Help page.

Refer to the Maintain Rules form (RULF2000) for further details about creating Rules, and to the Unit Set Rules Help page for information on syntax.

The Unit Set block contains:

  • Unit Set Code
  • Version Number
  • Unit Set Status
  • Title

The Unit Set Rule block contains:

  • Rule Description
  • Plain Rule Text
  • Rule Text

    Button

    • Edit Rule

Rules/Notes:

The Rule Description field displays all 'Rule Types' relating to the context unit set version. If no Rule Text (i.e. 'rule') has been recorded in the Rule Text field for a Rule Description, then an UNDEFINED lamp is displayed next to the Rule Description.

The Plain Rule Text field is a display-only field that displays a description (in 'plain English') of a corresponding rule created in RULF2000 or RULW2000 by a specialist user.
Note: This field may be populated from the 'English Rule Text' field in the Rules section of a Proposal (PAAW1100).

The 'Rule Text' field displays the actual rule.

The Edit Rule button provides access to RULF2000, where you can edit an existing Rule or create a new Rule. Only users with the appropriate security level have access to this button.
