Industry Groups will be assigned to Course Versions either directly, or indirectly via the industry sector. An Industry Group can be used to classify one or more course versions (direct relationship), or alternatively it can be subdivided into one or more industry sectors (using the Maintain Industry Sector functionality). The Industry Group information recorded against a Course Version is used for establishing funding targets and determining funding allocations. The following are examples of Industry Group Codes that can be created and maintained in Callista using this function. Note: The Industry Group Code defined by the institution may or may not replicate the Government Industry Group Code to which it is mapped. See Understanding VET Statistics for details.
The recording of a Government Industry Group against an institution-defined Industry Group is optional. As an alternative, institutes can choose to record the Government-defined Industry Group description in the GOVT_DESCRIPTOR field using this functionality. Invoked from the main menu or STAF112V Maintain Government Industry Group. Government Industry Group passed in context. |
