This form is used to maintain the set of institution-defined Funding Sources. A Funding Source is a means of classifying courses according to the primary source(s) of funding for the course. Funding Source(s) can be assigned to course versions using the Maintain Restricted Funding Sources form (CRSF12A0) to identify the Funding Source of each student course enrolment. Each institution-defined Funding Source must be mapped to a Government Funding Source. Government Funding Source is no longer a required reporting element and can therefore be used for institution purposes. See form (STAF1127) for more information. Below are possible examples of Funding Sources. The Funding Source codes are completely institution definable.
The Funding Source block contains:
Rules/Notes: The Level field is a display-only field and displays the Government Funding Source level (i.e. State, National, or No Govt Funding Source) that has been assigned to the Government Funding Source in the Maintain Government Funding Source form (STAF1127). The State Funding Source field displays the State level Funding Source identifier - State Training Authority Code. |
To create a new Funding Source using the Maintain Funding Sources form:
Rules/Notes: A Funding Source cannot be mapped to a CLOSED Government Funding Source. Validate that the Government Funding Source is only updated to another Government Funding Source within the same sector. Validations: An institution-defined funding source cannot be mapped to a State Funding Source if that funding source is not mapped to a National Funding source. |
To delete a Funding Source using the Maintain Funding Sources form:
Rules/Notes: If a Funding Source has been used in the definition of a course, it cannot be deleted. It can be closed, preventing any further use, by selecting the Closed check box. A CLOSED Funding Source cannot be re-opened if the Government Funding Source to which it is mapped is CLOSED. |
To modify a Funding Source using the Maintain Funding Sources form:
Rules/Notes: If a Funding Source has been used in the definition of a course, only the description can be modified. This is not recommended unless the change in description is minor and does not affect the meaning of the Funding Source. A new Funding Source should normally be created. A Funding Source can be closed, preventing any further use, by selecting the Closed check box. |
