The fields in the General tab are used to define the maximum number of characters that can be added in the Site Name in CRSW0200 and the Cross-listing Code, Short Name and Long Name fields in SCCLMAIN screen in Staff Connect, when creating a Cross-Listing:

  • Sourcedid- a number between 1 and 100
  • Sourcedid Short Name - a number between 1 and 40
  • Sourcedid Long Name - a number between 1 and 100

Organisation Tab

The fields in the Organisation tab are used to define the organisational structure of the institution so that it can be interpreted by the LMS.

  • The Organisational Structure Level 1 is the highest level of an Institution's organisational structure representing the institution as a whole. The Level One Organisational Unit Code cannot be blank.
  • (Up to) the next four levels below this form a hierarchy corresponding to the org structure within the institution. e.g. Institution may be made up of Faculties, Faculties may be made up of divisions, divisions may be made up of departments , that are made up of schools.
  • As some Institutions 'hard-code' all or part of their organisational structure in the LMS, you can nominate which levels in the Institution's organisational structure are to be transferred to the LMS.
  • The Member Types available here are defined in ORGF0112 and the LOV is populated by an open source function.
  • A level number must be recorded for each Level record and there must be no gap between Level numbers. The first Level record after Level 1 must be 2, then 3 and so on. The Course Template, Offering and Section Levels will be derived to continue this sequence.
  • The Course Template Sourcdld Suffix recorded here will be displayed in the Cross-Listing Tab.
  • The Course Template Sourcdld Suffix will be appended to Course Templates in Cross-Listings recorded in SCCLMAIN.
  • The Course Section Template Sourcdld Suffix recorded here will be displayed in the Cross-Listing Tab.
  • The Course Template Sourcdld Suffix will be appended to Course Templates recorded in CRSW0200.

Cross Listing Tab

  • Auto Generate Cross-Listing Code check box.
If selected, enables the automatic generation of a default Cross-Listing Code when creating a Cross-Listing for the first time in SCCLMAIN in Staff Connect.
    • If enabled, the format and content of the default Cross-Listing Codes will be defined by the Open Source routine: CRSK_SET_CL_CD.CRSP_SET_CL_CD. This routine creates default codes by concatenating the unit codes of all units in the Cross-Listing with the Teaching Periods from which those units are drawn, with each element separated by an underscore. For example, ABC101_AAB100_SEM-1_2011_SEM-2_2011.
Note, that this Custom Source Code routine can be modified, as required, by an institution to return a Cross-Listing code in an institution-defined format.
    • The default value for this check box is 'Y' (i.e. selected).

Note: A default code is generated only once when a Cross-Listing is first created In SCCLMAIN. If you later modify the Cross-Listing, a new default code is not re-generated.
If the 'Auto Generate Cross-Listing Code' check box not selected, then the 'Enable Cross-Listing Code Change after Loaded to LMS' check box must be selected.

  • Enable Cross-Listing Default Code Override check box.
If selected, enables administrators to change the name of a default Cross-Listing Code in SCCLMAIN when creating a new Cross-listing.
    • The default value for this check box is 'N' (i.e. deselected).
    • This check box must be selected if the 'Auto Generate Cross-Listing Code' check box (above) is deselected.
  • Enable Cross-Listing Code Change after Loaded to LMS check box.
If selected, enables administrators to change the name of a Cross-Listing code in SCCLMAIN after the Cross-Listing has been uploaded to an LMS.
    • For example, this option may be used if a copy (new version) of a Cross-Listing that has been transferred to an LMS, is created; (for example, new units added or units removed from the Cross-Listing).
    • The default value for this check box is 'N' (i.e. deselected).
  • Maximum Number of Units in a Cross-Listing.
Used to limit the number of units that can be included in a Cross-Listing.
    • Applies to the Unit fields in SCCLMAIN when creating or modifying a Cross-Listing.
    • The default value for this field is 2.
  • Maximum Number of Teaching Periods in a Cross-Listing.
Used to limit the number of Teaching Periods that can be selected from which units can be chosen to add to a Cross-Listing.
    • Applies to the Teaching Period fields in SCCLMAIN when creating or modifying a Cross-Listing.
    • The default value for this field is 1.

LMS Transfer Options
A Cross-Listing, created and maintained by SCCLMAIN, which lists Unit Offerings equates to a 'Course Offering' in LIS 2.0, whilst the associated Unit Offering Patterns (i.e. the children) equate to 'Course Sections'. In order to transfer the Cross-Listing to the LMS, the transfer process needs to know if the Cross-Listing requires a parent (i.e. Course Template) to be generated and if Course Sections are to be generated for the Cross-Listing. Hence indicators set here will tell the transfer process to generate the parent Course Template and child Course Sections or not.

  • Generate Cross-Listing Course Template check box
If selected, a Cross-Listing Template value is generated when a new Cross-Listing record is created in SCCLMAIN.
  • Cross-Listing Course Template Sourcedld Suffix
The value of the suffix to be appended to the end of the Course Template identifier. Automatically populated with value recorded in the Organisation tab of this form.
  • Generate Cross-Listing Course Sections check box
If selected, a Cross-Listing Template value is generated when a new Cross-Listing record is created in SCCLMAIN.
  • Cross-Listing Course Section Sourcedld Suffix:
The value of the suffix to be appended to the end of the Course Section identifier. Automatically populated with value recorded in the Organisation tab of this form.
