This form is used to create relationships between Unit Grading Schemas and Course Grading Schemas for Grade Translations.

Unit Offering Options must have a Grading Schema assigned in the Maintain Unit Offering Option form (CRSF2500). However, Course Offering Patterns can also have a Grading Schema assigned in the Maintain Course Offering Pattern form (CRSF1500). Outcomes are always keyed/recorded in the context of the Unit Offering Option Grading Schema. Where a student is enrolled in the Unit Offering and also in the course, and the Unit Offering Option Unit Grading Schema Precedence check box is not set (in CRSF2500), their recorded Unit Outcome must be translated to the corresponding grade in the Course Grading Schema. To achieve this, relationships must be established between grades in the Unit Grading Schema and the Course Grading Schema.

Grade translations are performed by the Translate Student Unit Attempt Outcomes process (ASSJ5390).

For more information on the translating of Grading Schemas, refer to the Subsystem Specialist overview.

This form can be entered two ways:

  • Via the Grade Translation button in the Maintain Grading Schemas form (ASSF5110). The form is entered in context for the From Grading Schema block; or
  • Via a menu allowing queries to be performed for both the From Grading Schema and To Grading Schema blocks.

Retrieve the To Grading Schema by performing a query in the To Grading Schema block.

Note: If accessing this form from ASSF5110 and the context schema is already mapped to at least one schema, Callista performs an auto query in the To Grading Schema block and retrieves the first 'To' schema.

Moving From Grading Schema to To Grading Schema:

  • Select a grade from the LOV in the left-hand column (or by keying a valid grade). The LOV contains only those grades in the From Grading Schema.
  • For the same highlighted record, select from the LOV in the right-hand column, the grade you want to translate to (or key in a valid number). The LOV contains only the grades in the To Grading Schema.

From Schema Mappings button. This displays all the grades in every schema that the From Grading Schema grades are mapped to.

To Schema Mappings button. This displays all the grades in every schema that the To Grading Schema grades are mapped to.

Rules/Notes:

The 'from' and 'to' grades must have the same System Result Type.

A grade in the From Grading Schema cannot be mapped to more than one grade in the To Grading Schema.
