This function provides institutions with the ability to create and maintain Government Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Codes in accordance with the AVETMISS Documentation for the statistical details collection. This form sets up Government requirements for ENRF01U0 - Maintain VET ATSI Codes.

The following are examples of AVETMISS Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Codes:

2 Yes, Torres Strait Islander
3 Yes, Aboriginal AND Torres Strait Islander
4 No, neither Aboriginal nor Torres Strait Islander

This form is accessed through the main menu.

 

The Government Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander Code block contains:

  • Govt Aborig/Torres Code
  • Description
  • Closed check box

 Rules/Notes:

To create a new VET Government Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander Type:

  • Enter Insert mode.
  • Enter the new code in the Government Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander field of a blank record.
  • Enter the corresponding description for the Government Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander Type in the Description field.
  • Save.

Rules/Notes:

Government Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander Codes MUST be unique. 

To modify a VET Government Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander Type:

  • Find the record to be modified.
  • Modify the record as required.
  • Save.

Rules/Notes:

Once in use, a Government Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander Code should not be modified.

To delete a VET Government Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander Type:

  • Find the record to be deleted.
  • Locate the cursor in the record to be deleted.
  • Delete record.
  • Save.

Rules/Notes:

A Government Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander Code cannot be deleted if it has been used in a Person record. It can be closed preventing any further use by selecting the Closed check box.
