Maintain Web Font

This form is used to create and maintain sections of text for insertion into Callista Connect web pages. Font elements are added to pages via Connect Builder. Font elements inherit their font attributes from the web style associated with the page/s in which they are inserted; unless overriding HTML tags are included in the element.

For more details on the creation of web pages refer to the specialist topic Understanding the Web Administrator.

1. Navigate to this form via the Site Map button.

2. Select Current Window to open this form in the current browser window or New Window to open this form in a new browser window.

3. To open the Maintain Web Page Font window and create a new font web element:

i. Add.

ii. System Web Element.

iii. FONT.

4. Record details of the font to be created as a web element.

A web font code must be recorded for a new font element; and cannot be altered when a font element is edited.

A web font code:

i. Record a description of the font.

ii. Optionally:

  • Select a font colour from the Colour Chooser Palette.
  • Select a font face from the LOV.
  • Set the font size.

iii. Record the text in the Font (Property) block. HTML tags may be used to create paragraphs, indent text, bold or underline particular words or phrases, etc.
iv. Select the button adjacent to the Property block to open the HTML TextArea Editor to conveniently view or enter  HTML code. Select the Close button to close the Editor. Any changes appear in the Property block.

    v. Select the Insert button to save.

5. To open the Choose Web Page Font window:

    i. Edit.

    ii. System Web Element.

    iii. FONT.

    iv. Select the required element.

    v. Then OKAY to navigate to the Maintain Web Page Font window and edit or view an existing web page font element.

vi. Select UPDATE to save changes that have been made.

6. The Insert Embed Web Element displays the web element chooser. This allows other elements to be inserted into the font. For example: an inline style.

7. The Tags in Property indicator is used when adding an element or text to the property block and HTML tags are used. If the indicator is not selected, the data is displayed with the tags in the web page. If the indicator is selected, only the data is displayed. For example: this form is used to record font (text) for insertion into a web page. The system identifies it and places the font tags - <FONT></FONT> tags around the text when building the web page. If the user has included the font tags when entering the text in the property block, selecting the indicator prevents the system from also inserting the tags causing the text in the property block to display with the tags entered in the block also.

8. If the Style Override indicator is selected, the global or individual style overrides any inline style elements applied to the font. If the Style Override is unchecked, an inline style applied to the font overrides the global or individual style for the element unless it has been listed as a replacement element in the global or individual style.

Select the Closed indicator to prevent further use of the font element.

Unwanted font elements can be removed by selecting the Delete button.

Rules/Notes:

A web font element cannot be deleted if it is currently being used in a web page.

If the Style Override indicator has been selected, any of the style attributes recorded for the font (colour, face, size) are overridden by the person preference or global styles.

The Colour Chooser palette is used to select a colour for the text. When the Colour Change button is selected, the Colour Chooser window is displayed. Optionally:

  • Select a colour from the colour palette available; or
  • Enter the hexadecimal code for a colour and select the Select Custom Colour button to insert the colour against attribute; or
  • If a colour has previously been recorded for the attribute, it can be cleared by selecting the Clear button. Selecting the Clear button removes any colour reference for the attribute. This is indicated by an exclamation mark in the colour indicator beside the attribute.
